Learn more about ArchCo

01 | Why ArchCo

The drawings were saved. The design experience was never truly accumulated.

The problem isn’t that it hasn’t been done before. It’s that what’s been done can’t flow directly into the next project.

02 | How ArchCo works

From DXF import
to continued design in CAD.

Import the new project’s unit outline and pick a suitable starting layout from past designs.
After adaptation, export to DXF and keep refining in your usual CAD.

03 | Where past layouts come from

Have your own past projects? Keep building on them. Not enough yet? Start right away.

ArchCo offers two independent sources of layouts. A firm can build its own private database, or subscribe separately to the ArchCo public database. Both can be used at the same time, but their data never mixes.

Private firm database

Import your firm’s past residential drawings into ArchCo. The system automatically recognizes them and organizes them into housing units ready for matching and adaptation.

  • Built from your firm’s past drawings
  • All data is for your firm’s use only
  • Never shared with other firms
  • Keeps growing as you use it

ArchCo public database

If you don’t have enough cases yet, or can’t build your own database for now, subscribe to the ArchCo public database on its own and start matching and adapting layouts right away.

  • No need to collect lots of past drawings first
  • Ready to use once you subscribe
  • Fully separate from every firm’s private database
  • Can be used alongside your own private database

Data stays separate; queries can run on both at once

A single new unit outline can search both your private database and the ArchCo public database for similar layouts. The system clearly labels the source of every result.

Drawings your firm uploads stay in your own private database. They never enter the public database and are never used by other firms.

Start with the public database or build your own private database over time. Either way, you can use ArchCo.

04 | How a private database is built

Import past drawings and automatically build a reusable database of housing units.

The system automatically recognizes the housing units in past drawings. Recognized units go into your private database; drawings that can’t be recognized or may have issues are listed separately.

Unrecognized drawings are listed separately

  1. 01Import drawings
  2. 02Auto-recognize
  3. 03Build database

From past drawings to a housing unit database that new projects can reuse.

05 | Day-to-day workflow

For a new project, just enter the unit outline and start from a similar case.

ArchCo reads the new outline’s interior area and shape, then finds past layouts with similar conditions in the databases you can access. Once your team picks a case, the system adapts the existing layout to the new outline.

ArchCo matches on interior area and outline shape only.

  1. 01Enter outline
  2. 02Match cases
  3. 03Choose layout
  4. 04Adapt layout

Not generating a new drawing from scratch, but bringing the designs you’ve already made back into the next project.
